    Mozart's

I don't come here very often. Yet when I do, without fail the sweet aroma of roasting coffee mixed with lake water greets me as I descend the stairs to the main door. Not much has changed here. The hand-written chalk sign that posted the prices above counter has been replaced witha fancy aluminum-bordered printed sign. The prices are higher, too, but not by much. The first time I came here, a bottomless coffee was 2.50. Now, it is 2.90.

My mind still drifts to mathematics when I sit here. Mathematics, and the regulars I met and used to watch. Sometimes I feel I have little to show for the countless hours I spent here. Sometimes I feel like my time is much like the bottomless coffee - the potential can never fully be realized.

Looking forward to updating things here...

I may have some time next week to update this site a bit. I'd like to get back into the habit of blogging frequently. Lately, I've been incessantly busy with work and other goings-on. I must say, despite the many hours I've been putting into work, I'm having more fun at a job than I thought was possible. More on that later; for now, I must get back to doing impossible things.

On another note, I'm still in shock that Hillary wasn't at the very least picked as VP. I'm wondering what sort of backroom dealings were done to ensure her support. After her stunning speech last night, I am sure some deal was struck. I half expected her to pull a coup and to walk out of Denver as the nominee. Meanwhile, Bill still seems to play the Machiavellian game with his abstract candidate X and Y analogy. Wisely, he avoided the gender comparisons by switching X and Y.

I know people claim Biden was a safe choice. But I think Hillary was the sure choice. It seems Obama has made his first significant blunder (aside, perhaps, from the gun comment) of the season. I admit, however, I could be wrong.

Is It True? Can It Be?

The Riemann Hypothesis solved? I'd love for any of my mathematical friends to enlighten me on the general response to this from their departments...

    Supposed proof here

In other news, I bought a Wii Fit thinking it would be a lot of fun. Turns out, its not so terribly fun to have a video game tell you you are overweight. Nonetheless, I do enjoy it.

    To those who frequent here:

Sorry for the infrequent and indecently short posts.

I miss the exuberance and energy I had while in school. Sometimes I wonder if one doesn't become more undisciplined and lazier outside of school.

It used to be that I could do several important things in a day. Lately, I'm fortunate to do one in a week.

If I get my gear in order, I'll be posting here more regularly - I could use a venting and reflecting spot.

    Untitled

I read poetry today and my soul was stirred. It has been quite some time since I’ve sat over a cup of coffee with a poem. In the quietude, I feel connection. In the solitude, I feel peace. In the stillness, all of life’s hopes and sorrows flood.

My coffee is warm. It is familiar. It is balance.
