Main page
Your "Main" page page is the heart on your web journal, as this is where your most recent entries are to be displayed.
By default, it is the page which is displayed when accessing upsaid.com/username.
This tutorial will explain how to build the "Entry" templates, and the "Date Grouping" templates. These templates determine the way your entries will be displayed,
so is important to understand how they work. In order to edit these templates, head to "Layou" -> "Edit default templates" -> "Main page templates" from the control menu.
As you may have noticed, there are two "Entry" templates, and two "Date Grouping" templates.
This may make things a little more complicated at first, but it allows a level of customisation which only Upsaid offers. If you are make layout from scratch for
the first time, you might want to keep things simple, and only use the "Primary Entry template" and the "Primary Date Grouping template", ignoring the secondary templates.
You will then need to select the "Do not use it" option on the "Use secondary entry template for" radion choice.
However, if you wich to use the secodary templates as "Alternateing templates", please have a look at our tutorial
which explains in details how this can be done.
The secondary templates can also be used if you wish to post entries which include an extended body. In this case, the "Secondary Date Grouping template" can be
ignored, as it will not be used. For more details on how to build templates for extended entries, please reffer to the related tutorial.
But for now, let's just look at the basics:
