"I Will Not Fail Thee"By Derek Hegsted
As He surrounds you with His loving embrace, the Spirit sweetly reminds you of the time before your birth. He held you gently, whispering loving words of assurance,
''I will not forget thee, nor forsake thee.
I will not fail thee . . . '' And then you were born.

Getting Healthy - My Weight Loss

About Me:
I am a Latter Day Saint (Mormon), homeschooling mom who practices attachment parenting, extended nursing, co-sleeping, homebirthing, organic foods, the use of aternative medicines, and quiverful thinking.
I have been married to my husband bughead for five years and we have three beautiful daughters: Smooch (12), Squishy (6) and Boo (4).

About this Journal:
I have started this journal in order to make a record of my thoughts. This blog is unabashadly LDS. I will talk about things here that are possibly contrary to others beliefs. You may agree with some of my statements - you may not. Some might make you think hmmmm and yet others will make you think that I am an old fashioned backwards lady who really needs to get her head on straight. *grin*

The Articles Of Faith...The Basic Beliefs of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
We believe in God, the Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost
We believe that men will be punished for his own sins and not for Adam's transgression
We belive that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience of the laws and ordinances of the gospel
We believe that the first laws and ordinances of the gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance ; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying of of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
We believe that a man must be called of God, through prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those in authority, to preach the gospel and administer the ordinances thereof.
We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth
We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
We believe the bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
We believe all that God has revealed, all that he does now reveal, and we believe that he will reveal yet many great and important things pertaining to the kingdom of God
We blieve in the literal gathering of Isreal and the restoration of the ten tribes; that Zion (the new Jerusalem) will be built apon the American Continent; that Christ will reign personally apon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paraisiacal glory
We claim the privelege of worshipping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own concience, and allow all men the same priviledge. Let them worship how, where or what they may.
We believe in being subject to Kings, presidents, rulers, magistrates,in obeying, and honouring and sustaining the law
We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul - We believe all things, hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, loovely or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
Joseph Smith

For Future Reference
I am not planning on renewing my upsaid membership for this account. I still have 84 days remaining on the account status for this journal but I cant see the purpose in having two accounts... when it was free that was one thing but now they dont have free accounts so I am not going to bother renewing it.
Please, update your links and visit me at my homeschool blog at: A Place To Grow Obviously with not having two journals any more some of my more personal thoughts will be entwined with the homeschool thoughts. Ah well what can you do?
God Bless!

I miss my dresses
We recently moved our business from a small 500 square foot office to one that is 1700 square feet - complete with a waiting room, reception area, board room and kitchen. I finally get my own office... no more sharing with DH. We are tearing out walls, rewiring the electrical, painting and ripping out carpet. I have been working as well on stripping wall paper. Needless to say, I cant wear a dress in that kind of environment for multiple reasons. I am working there with all men. I am climbing ladders... you get the idea. I miss wearing my dresses. I dislike sleeping in nightgowns and when I get home from work I am so tired that I simply shower and get into my jammies. As a result, I have only been able to wear a dress for one day this week since today I spent the day gardening... another chore that I wear pants for. I cant wait until this office is finished and I can start wearing my dresses again.
Oh I have to go... I have a four year old telling me that she is "never going to bed". Sigh.

A Good Churchy Kinda Day
Today was fast and testimony and bughead and I started our fast last night with some quiet meditation and prayer, then fasted until around 5 pm this evening. We finally broke our fast at a child's baptism... this as a general rule isnt all that entertaining - children are baptized all the time but what makes this baptism really special is that the father was raised a member of the church. Through his teen years he went inactive and finally, after many years of being away from the gospel he came back. His family however were NOT members. His daughter immediatly took to the gospel, his wife on the other hand, stuggled with things. She felt that she was being left behind, and having had a trying upbringing, finds it very difficult to believe in a loving father in Heaven. We had been praying that her heart would be softened and sure enough, on the eve of her daughter's baptismal interview, she decided that she too wanted to enter the waters of baptism. We are so thrilled for her family! Heavenly Father surely loves us and cares for us! That families joy of not only having their wayward son returned to the fold but his family following is indeed a blessing.
Boo is sitting her with me watching a movie in the school room as the other girls, and bughead are outside sitting with the missionaries enjoying the warm weather. It amazes me how few people have the missionaries into their homes... they are wonderful young men and women and are a wonderful blessing to have in our home. They help to strengthen our testimonies and to bring the spirit into our home. I think that its so important to remember that these young people have devoted 2 years of their life to the gospel. They didnt have to do it... they arent being paid to go to different countries to preach to those searching for the truth. They put off their entire lives for GOD. The least that we can do it feed them, take care of them and replace, for a short while, the families and friends that they left behind.

Updating my look...
I was getting bored of the same ole same ole so I decided to update my journal. I played around with several new pictures for my side bar but nothing seemed right so I stuck with the original one. If you notice there is a new list called "101 Things About Me"... click on it if you want to read 101 things that you probably didnt really want to know. *grin*
The kids are down stairs with me building themselves a fort to sleep in tonight. I never thought that my 12 year old would still want to do things like this. I know that I did when I was 12 but everyone knows how young girls are today - they are in such a hurry to grow up...heck they wear clothing that is disgraceful and through all of this I have to wonder WHERE ARE THEIR PARENTS?!?

Yeah. Right.
My question to them would be this: What do you do when your husband is ALWAYS at home and in the way?
