I was feeling very ambitious this morning, right up until I sat down at my desk. Now I don't want to work.

I stayed at Adam's last night. Not because I wanted to see Adam, because he's not here, he's in Arkansas; but because i'm so sick of my apartment and main street Vermillion that I couldn't handle it without Agnese there, she's in North Dakota.

So this morning after running and figuring out how to turn the air down I looked in the fridge to see if there was any breakfast-type food...

Applesauce. I haven't had applesauce in ages. I used to love it, until one day in 8th grade school lunch they didn't get the add-water-and-mix applesauce mixed well enough and I got a big bite of what felt like sand. I can still taste it to this day, it truly burned me on applesauce forever.

But deep down I know it's good, and I know the store bought kind won't have spoonfuls of sand in them so I thought I'd try it.

The lid didn't come off right away, It turned hard. If Adam was here I would have asked him to do it, then he would have been the one to experience the applesauce explosion all over his kitchen counter when the lid finally did come off. little blobs of applesauce on walls and counters and the mail and my shirt....

Since when does applesauce explode? My guess is that it'd been in the fridge for so long without being opened that it's built up air pressure inside it. Sounds not good at all. So I put it back in the fridge and went to the coffee shop.

I told Adam yesterday that I always thought I'd end up with a rugged farm boy, and how'd I end up with someone less 'rugged' than me? But I got one that drinks wine and eats spinach salad with me instead... and still has a truck. the best of both worlds. Yes Melissa, I can have my cake and eat it too.

We had a great weekend at the fair. Adam's never wrong when he says something will be fun, and he's got me just as attached to this fair as he is. There's nothing quite like hanging out with the Pfeifer's in the beer garden. This isn't just a family, it's like a secret society. In the words of one of the wives (married into the family) "There are families that are really close, and then there's the Pfeifers."
