is this a mystery?
maybe more to gay men than anyone else. kirk said yesterday that he thought vaginas dry out when they are not in use.

and so on
Its another overcast day in Seattle…

Prince sings you could be the president… I think about transportation. I’ve been drinking a lot of water at work. I’ve been taking “colon cleanse” capsules. I’d rather be the pope. Last night after the casino dinner with my family, I discussed the cost of a Uhaul truck from Seattle to Chicago with my dad. A thousand bucks. My mom asks “Do you even OWN anything worth that much?” We decide that that amount would be best invested in a station wagon and a new bed purchased at my destination. So I think I’m going to fix up my Camry, and trade it in on an upgrade to something like a Forrester. Perhaps I’ll tow a Uhaul trailer behind. Something cheaper. (An interesting side note about last night’s casino visit was that I happened to make $50.10 on the $5.00 my dad gave me to gamble with. I played the nickel machine “Texas Tea.” I took the original $5.00 and lost it on the same machine. There is no skill, there are no rules; it is the most random thing ever.)

It’s Saint Patrick’s Day. He chased all the snakes (the demons) out of Ireland, you know? There really are no snakes in Ireland. I’ve gotten pinched already for the crime of not donning green clothing. One of the scientists. I tried to convince her that having lived in Ireland was good enough, like. So now I have a green X on my hand in my defense. I hope to go out for thick beer tonight on a pisser.

How did a man like Prince get to be so sexy? I’m listening to The Hits/ The B Sides. A list of activities that shall be embarked upon today: get the Michelle laundry bin contents washed, pick up framed photos from Paris in Magnolia, clean the shit out of my car, build the frame for and stretch a canvas, prime said canvas, read at least two chapters in Prozac Nation.

Today my task at work has been to make a visual for an entire pedigree (Mormon family) that fits on one slide. I am to reduce the complexity because we are to demonstrate to investors a representation of a segregated phenotype in this family. I have been working on Illustrator and making drawings by hand. It’s fun where art and science collide.

I sit at my desk and I cannot stop bouncing my leg… nor do I wish to.

black three

technology is making us crazy. this fancy keyboard makes my handwriting poor. people talking on mobile phones with headsets look like they are ranting to themselves or to no one in lunacy. at work i see the recycling put into the same collection bin as the the garbage when the man comes around. our efforts are meaningless, just as i had suspected.

this is the kind of day i love. it is overcast but not cold and there's something contained in the day that hints at spring. the air smells strongly of earth. there's scandel in it on a day like today. instead of shutting me in like most grey days here- it pulls me out into the idea of possibility. perhaps my acceptance letter from saic will arrive around noon. at work there was a letter from fedex awaiting me, or rather a michelle skimbado, which is a fairly accurate phoenetic spelling. it was a very heartfelt mass produced thank you card (hallmark) with a fedex notepad contained inside. it is the first bit of mail that has been for me at my work. i set it up on my desk next to the thank you card shawn's wife sent to us for flowers. shouldn't we value companies and cooperations as we do people? it's the future.

everyday on the way up to suite 450 in my building's elevator, i look at my reflection in the black shiny plastic above the floor number buttons. today i looked up and found my image looking meek. i looked at my hands, even they looked pathetic and small. it didn't make me feel bad in anyway; i sort of revelled in it. i like being weak as much as i like being strong.
