Introducing John Sebastian Collier Newman!

Day 1: 4/27/07

Li'l John's first picture!

The anesthesiologist took this and the next picture.

This, and the next picture, was taken upstairs in the neonatal unit after John was whisked up there. A nurse took these pictures since we weren't allowed in there yet.

Not having any fun! Poor guy.

Day 2: 4/28/07

One day old, and doing much better today.

Day 4: 4/30/07

Having been back on the CPAP then off it again, Li'l John is coming along pretty well. And he's now eating everything they put in his feeding tube.

Look at that full head of black hair! I suppose that'll change color in time, but to what, who knows?

Day 5: 5/1/07

Off the cannula, and feeding from a bottle! And we can hold him! And he's awake and alert, too!

Day 8: 5/4/07

And now off the IV...

...but needing some ultraviolet therapy for jaundice, as many newborns do.

Day 10: 5/6/07

Skin to skin... he's lovin' it.

Day 11: 5/7/07—Coming home!

Just home and snoozing in his own Pack'n'Play! We're so glad to finally have him home!

(Subsequent John pictures are in the "Family pictures" page from this year.)
