How to Irritate the Fuck Out of Me.

I suppose I should thank Ashlee Simpson.

Because she irritates the living FUCK out of me. I should thank her because despite my numerous emotional problems right now and exhaustive work schedule, I can still find the time to watch her show and wonder to myself… why the fuck am I watching this?

Patron Saint of Lost Causes.

So.

I should have a pretty valid excuse for the lack of a new entry, yes?

Besides the fact that shortly after my last entry I found myself in Los Angeles again, then Las Vegas, then New York all for work and up to my neck in it for almost two weeks.

Besides the fact that I was getting by on about 3 hours of sleep because I was juggling work in two time zones.

Catch up.

Have you ever watched something so exquisite, so beautiful and breathtaking that it restored your faith in the human race? That it made you rethink how we as a species can’t be all that bad if we can conceive such maddening splendor with our artist’s souls, ingenuity and perseverance?

I watched Kâ by Cirque Du Soleil this past weekend in Las Vegas and it took my breath away and made tears fall from my eyes. Only two other stage performances have elicited the same reaction from me: O, also by Cirque Du Soleil and The Phantom of the Opera.

I wrote Ras this morning at 3:30 AM, shortly after I came in from bar-hopping with friends in LA, about things that make Josh cry. Besides Cirque Du Soleil and The Phantom, listening to Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and 9th Symphony never fails to pull out a reaction. Obviously, the strangest things make me cry. My friends have never seen this side of me, and I’ve actually been told several times that I must have a heart made of stone. I prefer watching theatre alone, like most of my movies, because it’s easier for me to be moved in solitude.

I love you.

Max is slowly learning that when bored, I should not be allowed to think independently and freely.

Sitting in two hour traffic yesterday, we were with Cathy and James who were sitting in the back seat. Cathy and James know all about how my greatest joy in life is derived from driving Max to the brink of homosexual insanity. I’d reached a point where I was just too horribly bored, just sitting there doing nothing and Max was his usual effervescent self, incapable of shutting up for just 10 seconds. As he rattled on and on without even bothering to take a breath between sentences about the latest in Parisian fashion, I puckered up and told him to give me a kiss. Max blanched, covered his mouth in absolute horror and stole a quick glance at the audience in the back seat, already starting to laugh at his petrified reaction.

Rain and Envy.

It’s raining outside.

I came home for dinner with Cole, put him to bed, then left again to head out with my friends. It is now Saturday morning. I got a call from Burbank to tell me that Ras’ package arrived while we were at the bar.

Mike went home early. I envy Mike. Have I ever said that out loud? Have I even ever thought about it out loud? I don’t think so.
