Well well well, it's been a while. It's close to christmas but I only have presents for 2 people. It is strange.

Lets see, I retook my SAT IIs in writing for the third time and know that I know exactually what they wanted I believe I did quite well, and definitally better than my first time. We have to hope that my score goes up more. I got the results of my 2nd testing and it turns out I got a 580 as oppsed to the 450 of my first time. This is even before I started tutoring. It just goes to show that actually caring about a test you are taking will help you to score alot better in it.

Exams are comming up and I am frightened. Lucky I only have three. I need to really study for AP Goverment and AP Calculus, English won't be too much of a worry, but it has three essays on it. I am taking extended time on all three of them, basically I get to sit in a special room and don't get disturbed for anything. My Sociology exam is a take home exam and I do not have to worry about it until break.

Over break we are going to San Fransico for five days. I hope we have fun, but as usually my father is already in a horribly bad mood for the holidays. It's the problem with working in the bakedgoods industry, holidays are the hardest on you.

Good news, for the winter play this year we are putting on two productions. After Bush is elected and the Anti gay mirrage law is passed in Ohio Ms. Bolton, my Goverment teacher and the director, decided not only to put on Inherit the Wind, which is anti ideological, but also the Laramie Project, which is a contraversial anti homophobia play about the Mathew Shepard murders. It just makes me love Ms. Bolton even more.

At for the first play I had auditioned for the first play with a monoluge of Rachel's from Inherit the Wind and seeing as I got the part of Rachel I have more than a fleeting suspicion that is why the play was chosen.

In other news I have been sick for the past week. I believe I had a virus and I had been feeling horrible since monday. On thursday I actually passed out inbetween classes. It was more like I couldn't keep my body in an upright position than anything else. I went home and slept after Calculus.

On Wensday I had a panic attack. I am pretty sure it is related to me being sick, but I was very upsetting. Because my mother is trying to get me ready for live away from her now she is making our relationship more twosided. Inother words when I freak out she is less nice and comforting to me and acts more how she really feels. It was easier when she was just always there for me, but this is forcing me to mature and realize how to get myself out of anxiety sooner and to make it easier for others.

-- Personality Disorder Test - Take It! --

Personality Disorder tests are fun to take, this one actually seems to ring true with some of my problems. It would not suprise me if I actually had some of these problems.

That reminds me, I finished my I-searh, a recent paper I wrote about my anxiety disorder, and have uploaded it here . It might explain some things, but will obviously have errors. I didn't go too deep into everything, I seem to have two many walls. When I go to college I know it will be necessary to break down some of those walls, and I am going to force myself to go to councling, othewise I am not sure I would make it through the year without many breakdowns.

In other news I finally saw my first Charlie Chaplin movie, City Lights. Although it was a romance I much liked it and Chaplin does have a wonderful touch to his work. None of what he does has the saccharine sweet taste that makes me hate almost any of todays so called "romantic comedys". Seriously those movies should be banned from all existance.

I shall now leave you with a picture of the beautiful Mary Pickford, who with Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Farbanks was one of the most famous actors from the silent film period.

Marshmellows and smores

It took me alot of work, but I scanned two art pieces. It's hard when you can't scan the whole piece at a time.

If you didn't already know it, it is my birthday today. There has been much rejoycing. Last night, before RHPS, Mel gave me a small suprise party, I didn't know that was comming. I even got Jesus candels and a cake with Frankenfurter, Magenta, and Columbia on it. They had also told the cast, but because we were in the small theater no spanking comenced.

Dom sent me fairy wings! Well according to his note, they are from Evil Dom, who is an althernative evil personality that is much fun and as real as Dorte's muses.

In other news because of my learning disability manifesting it's self durring the time when we were learning the basic mechanics of writing, my first score on the SAT II in writing was a 450, which is horrible. So now I have a tutor who is helping me a great deal and I will improve by a gigantic amount. It's funny how I can do so well on the Chemistry one or the reading comprehension on the ACT, and yet I can do so horribly one the writing one.

One sleepy person signing off for now.

Sims are so much fun

Today, in the mail I got a Harvard Application. I did not order it. The introduction letter said something about high academic achievement and test scores. This felt extremely strange, but I have decided to apply "just to see if I get in". Applying will be easy, as Harvard only uses the Common application. The only thing is that I have to get more recomendations now.

Dom sent me my birthday present ;D, but it is sooo hard to wait until the 21st. It's even worse for him, as he has had his a week earlier and has to wait until November 28th. Dom said I was a tease when I wrap presents. It's because I wrapped afew little things so you can see a small part of actual object, yet you can not know what it is unless you actually open it. I am very proud of my wrapping results. Dom's presents were beautifully wraped, in a simple style, all in rectangles. It is going to be hard to wait.

The above figure is Leigh Bowery, a very strange, yet intresting preformance artist/fasion designer/drag queen/person. I know almost nothing about him, but he still has some stuff I really like. Last saturday I watch a small portion of the Legand of Leigh Bowery on Trio (a very fun culture chanel) and decided that I needed to look into him. This may take some time.

After watching a part of the show, I then left for the Halloween showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. I ended up taking 5 other people to see it at the midnight showing. I had such a fun time! Two drag queens showed up. Before the show I recieved a very nice compliment on my costume from a guy whow was wearing blue eyeliner and a pink feather boa. I sat in the second row (like always) and Crow, Cosmo (both of them in the cast), Liz and I ended up in a popcorn fight. I ended up with a great deal of popcorn down my shirt :).

Update

Mr. Williams

College Essays are very furstrating. This is my best one so far, it is for the University of Chicago.

Option One:Have you ever walked through the aisles of a warehouse store like Costco or Sam’s Club and wondered who would buy a jar of mustard a foot and a half tall? We’ve bought it, but it didn’t stop us from wondering about other things, like absurd eating contests, impulse buys, excess, unimagined uses for mustard, storage, preservatives, notions of bigness… and dozens of other ideas both silly and serious. Write an essay somehow inspired by super-huge mustard.

I have a friend named Mel. She’s one of those quirky people who you can find browsing the physics section of a bookstore, not because she needs a book for school, but because the idea of physics interests her so much that she feels compelled to buy a book about it, and in the process ends up talking to my chemistry teacher. Mel also wears the craziest outfits. In those awkward middle school years, she would show up at school in a pink tut-tut, oversized green rain boots, and fake cats-eye glasses with her hair going every which way in the strangest style imaginable. Mel is simply Mel. That is why I chose her for a little experiment.

Mel moved away from us when she was in 6th grade. She lived in Connecticut and went to some high-class school where 40% of the graduates go on to Ivy League colleges and where she developed a panic disorder from doing 12 extracurricular activities. Lucky for me, and her anxiety, Mel recently moved back to our little town.

Mel, as she is such a unique person, requires unique gifts. A few days before Mel’s arrival, I had been shopping for “inspiration” for one of my college essays. I found such inspiration, not only for the essay, but also for a welcome home gift that would truly surprise and excite Mel like no other. After lugging my purchases back to the car, I took some time to contemplate how to present them to Mel. My final decision was to package them in a huge box from my sister’s horseback riding saddle and to wrap the box in shiny, silver paper. We soon invited Mel over for a little welcome home party followed by a trip to the county fair.

When the day of Mel’s party arrived, the only thing harder than transporting the gigantic box upstairs was trying not to smile before she opened it. Everyone gathered around to see the last and largest gift opened. A smile slowly washed across Mel’s face as she realized what was in the box. Mel is simply Mel. She’s the only person I know who would be filled with ecstasy over receiving a 15 lb. bag of rice, a one-gallon jar of maple syrup, and a “super-huge” jar of mustard.

Lewis Carroll - The Miracle of the Mirror

If you don't know, I am in science olympiad, basically a sort of science olympics on all sorts of topics. This year our class has no people who are really good leaders, or who can devote every waking moment to it, so our teacher has created a science night, once a week which is held by high school seniors, for both the high school and (brand new) middle school teams.

Last tuesday I ran the science night for the topics "Chemical Id" and "Can't Judge a Powder". "Can't Judge a Powder" is basically tests you on your abilty to take observations about different powders, including the pH and the conductivity of a solution of it. "Chemical Id" basically goes on the pattern that they give you 10 different chemicals (predetermined) and one reagent, and you use a set of reactions to identify each different poweder.

To take care of both these events I set up 6 lab stations, each having one of three Chem ID chemicals, and had the children do certin tests on their sample and had them record the data. Then I gathered them all together and recorded their results in a table, asked them to guess who had the same chemicals, put up a prepaired table that had all the correct reactions recorded, and asked them what they thought was which. It acually went very well considering I had about 18 middle schoolers there with Silver Nitrate, Sodium Hydroxide, and Hydrochloric Acid. Good think I only gave them about 3 ml of each.

Now if you understand anything of the above, I congradulate you on your Chemistry knowlege. :)

Recently I recieved and wrote Dom another letter. I have been shopping for his Christmas and Birthday presents, and he is still trying to trick me into telling him what they are *G*. Last night I saw these gigantic, platform, highhealed, red latex boots that he would have loved, but they were too expensive, not to metion the fact that I don't have a clue what his shoe size is.

Sarah's sister Karen is back in town and I happened upon her while picking something up a borders, so we are going to Rocky Horror tonight. I believe it has become a small obsession for me, not only did I have the "Eddie's Teddy" stuck in my head for three days in a row this week, but I also had a dream in which I joined the cast.

Last night I finally finished the 800 page book Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell. It is a wonderful book, and I would recomend it to anyone who would actually take the time to read 800 pages. I also read the comic How Loathsome by Ted Naifeh & Tristan Crane. It reminded me why I don't like drug culture, why I won't like LA, and also intreauged me with very androgynous figures.

Have to go.

Update on my life.

Now lets see.

After going on two college visits in two weeks, being assigned gigantic amount of homework, writing college essays, missing 3 tests, and taking 4 Ap level classes I broke down on Monday. Sometimes it take a while before you realize your limits. So after this I took Tuesday off from school and caught up on lots of things.

Luckly I have talked to my councler and teachers and have everything worked out and all but one test made up. I believe I plan to audit Anatomy and Physiology which would definitally help out when it came to exams.

As for you college search last Wensday I went to Pittsburg for an interview at Carnagee Mellon. I have fist drafts of almost all of my essays and will soon finish them.
