For Sale | 9:24 AM

We finally signed the paperwork yesterday to list the house.  I'm very happy, the asking price is 13k over what we bought it for a little over two years ago!

Josh | 10:58 AM

Josh had tubes put in his ears for the second time this morning.  The surgery went well.  As soon as he woke up, he said he could hear better so I'm very happy!  Maybe it won't sound like I'm constantly yelling at the poor boy whenever I talk to him from now on.  I should have taken him to school right after though.  He's been running around the house like a maniac since we've been home!

Nothing New Here | 9:36 AM

Really, there isn't much new here.  The house is coming along, slowly but surely.  Very slowly.  I shudder to think how far behind we'd be if my mom wasn't here helping out.  I'm still stressed.  Ask James, he's caught the brunt of it.  Originally I planned on putting the house on the market today.  Now the goal is June 1.  We are allowed 11,000 pounds when we ship our household goods.  So of course I'm worried we are over that.  We've never been before, but then again we've never owned a house before so just the amount of James' tools has doubled since we've lived here.  So anyway, I'll try to update more often on our progress.

Flea Market | 12:43 PM

I spent three hours yesterday going through the "family" boxes in the shed one final time.  All that's left is stuff I actually need to keep.  That being said, only I would decide to go to a flea market tomorrow!  I'm just going to keep in mind all the crap that is going to the Salvation Army, that will keep me from buying anything.  I really just want to go since it's supposed to be one of the best in the state.  We'll just see about that!

Small Update | 11:34 PM

Thanks to our good friends, Casey & Lisa, our kitchen has a brand new hardwood floor.  Everything but the cabinets, stove and dishwasher are brand new in that kitchen now.  We have a few things left to do, then the house is ready for the market.  When we move, it will be the first time that we'll be stationed in a state where family lives, close by!  As in, 45 minutes away!  I think that is the most exciting part of all.

Today Deb and I took all the kids to the zoo.  We had a great time, all the kids behaved themselves!  I also bought the family pass so that now we can get into the Nashville Zoo for free, not to mention the zoo in the town we are moving to.  For the next year, we'll be visiting a lot of zoos (or the same zoos, over and over again).

Even better news, hopefully my mom will be out by the end of the month to visit!

Just when I think things are finally getting better, something will set Chris, or myself, or both of us off.  The other day I mowed the grass for the first time this season.  My dad gave me a weed eater and for some reason, I can never get it started.  He could, I can't.  Chris was outside with me while I was trying to start it, and he started crying because Pappy gave it to us.  As dumb as it sounds, I'll never get rid of it.  Nor the gas can he gave me to mix the fuel in.  Chris told me he wants it when he gets his own house.  Of course I'll give it to him.

Josh, out of the blue, told me the following last week:  "Mom, when we go see Santa again, I'm going to ask him to fix Pappy.  He's magic, he can do it."  That just tore me up.

Thankfully when we move, my mom can put her little dog in the car and come down to visit any time.  Or I can throw the kids and our little dog in the car and go up to visit.  We need her to get through this as much as she needs us.  My father was a wonderful man, and we will miss him terribly for the rest of our lives.  People say it gets easier, my question is, when?

Surprise! | 12:50 PM

James and I met with the first of three realtors this morning to get some ideas about what we have to look forward to in selling the house.  I was very pleasantly surprised in what #1 put down as the asking price.  It was actually a few thousand higher then I expected.  We are shooting for putting the house on the market the end of May which gives us plenty of time to do all our little cosmetic things.  I'm making appointments with realtors #2 and #3 for the beginning of next week and then we'll make our final decision about that.

My birthday is Wednesday but James got me my gift last week.  The Canon SX10IS.  I LOVE THIS CAMERA!  I took 196 pictures of the kids out in the yard on Friday and kept all but 3.  The 193 I kept were perfect (in my amateur opinion) and didn't get any editing done to them.  Awesome!

I plan on posting more, but not right now.  The computer is almost dead and I really need to get back to dividing our things in three piles...keep, yard sale and garbage.
