funny...
LOL!
That's Chris, my soon to be 18yo son in the backseat of our Bronco. On Tuesday, we made the long haul to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri to pick him up from National Guard basic training. That's right, he had spent the last 10 weeks being screamed at and pushed to his limits.
And you know what? He did it! He now says that it was very scary at first, but then it was fun!
FUN?
He also says I made it easy for him with the way I've raised him. Umm, I'm not sure how to take that. LOL I am so proud of him, I could burst.
Isn't he handsome?

Well, I knew football was going to start in August, but I thought I would have a little bit of a respite. No such luck.
Practice today. 5:00.
Here we go again!

My favorite chants from little league have to be these two...
We want a pitcher, not a belly itcher!
&
We want a batter, not a broken ladder!
So cute in their silliness!
Speaking of baseball, both Ben and Zack's teams are out of All-Stars. Despite how I feel about Little League in general, it was pretty sad. Ben's team lost their first 2 games, so that was all they played. awww It's gotta suck to lose your first 2 games knowing that that's it. No more chances. I can't say that noone cried after that game. :-(
Zack's team lost it's last game because all the guys were out there looking like they had never even seen a baseball before, let alone played an actual game!! I couldn't believe those guys! It was painful!
I'm just glad it's finally over & I can stay home some.
That is until football starts in August. **GROAN**

More pictures...
Just let me know when you're tired of looking at pictures...
The middle one on the bottom is a picture of me, as I wait for Ben to finish up in the men's room. I think it's neat, so I thought I would share it.

pics to share
Since I know that I'm not the only one that loves looking at pictures on other people's blogs, I thought I would share some of my recent pics...
The above pictures were taken when Natalie, my mom and I went to the annual Garden Walk in a nearby city. We've always enjoyed it, & I usually get a lot of good photos, but this year I didn't. It was just so hot, I didn't feel like dealing with the digi too much. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zack and Ben both made All-Stars. Just as I feared! So far Zack's team lost their 1st game, and have won the following 3. They play again tonight at 5:30. Keep your fingers crossed. One more loss & they're out.
Ben's team lost their first game. They took it really well. No crying or anything. Believe me when I tell you that these little kids take baseball very seriously!! Ben's team plays game 2 tonight at 8:00. Keep your fingers crossed. One more loss & they're out. It would be really sad to lose the first two games. Here's a picture of Ben on the field...
I don't have a pic of Zack in which he's alone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I really do have a lot more to say... Today I have a sock knitting class to go to, and I haven't even gotten the ribbing done!! Egads!
I'm reading feverishly through the Thursday Next & Mma Ramotswe novels.
It seems like when I finally have time to sit, all I feel like doing is losing myself in a book. But not Pilgrim's Progress. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time with this book. Maybe it's the story line. I'm not particularly religious, and all the christian philosophizing gets to me after a while. I know that I may be the only one in the world to not like this book, but well, there it is. I do not like the book Pilgrim's Progress. There I said it. Whew, I feel better now. But, because my personality says I must, I will finish it. Come hell or high water. I NEED to finish PP, as I'm actually looking forward to reading Gulliver's Travels. The sad thing is, I'm almost done! I have like 50 more pages to go. So close and yet soooo far! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oh!!! I'm so excited!! In a little more than a month, I will be here: Conseco Fieldhouse Listening to: Sarah McLachlan I feel like a little kid waiting for my birthday! This will be like summer's grand finale for me, before we start hitting the books again in early September. What a way to wind up the summer huh? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well, I better be running! See ya round the blog run!!
