The week in review... so far

So it's been an interesting week so far and it's only "hump" day. That is saying alot.

First off I've been ill from some kind of head cold so it hasn't been BAD but it's been miserable in the sense that I was from this past Saturday up until today spacey, dizzy, disoriented and feeling totally out of it. I think I had an on and off again fever too but it wasn't a bad fever. I just know I was getting chills off and on and my forehead felt a bit on the warmish / hot side but since I have 2 crappy thermometers I don't know exactly how bad it was or even how mild. My temps ranged from 95 to 98 when I used either thermometer so I can't say for sure what my real temp was. :P I tends to be in the 97 degree range on the normal side but I wasn't even getting that.

Secondly this cold was making me not wanna eat so I wasn't eating well and lost a few pounds (can't say I didn't need to) but then when I don't eat my stomach acts stupid and when I finally eat, it gets all wonky and makes me feel like I've got something bad going on. So that lasted a day and now I'm over that for the most part and the cold is alot better than it was. I don't feel quite so spacey or dizzy but my head still hurts a bit.

Thirdly although it should be first off on my list of bad things... I'm so bad about checking my oil. I know I know... typical female being bad. But no I really do try and check things off and on to be sure my car isn't going to explode or anything. I atleast know how to put oil in and change fluids over all which is more than some of the younger girls I know here at work who just don't even notice smells and smoke and things coming out of their car. I always make note of sounds and such and especially smells from the engine. I've had enough crappy cars to notice things like that and know burning oil from burning water / anti-freeze.

Anyhow... Sunday I go out to do laundry after doing some minor shopping and suddenly "bing bing bing bing" and I see the little oil light show up and think "OH CRAP" cause the oil light beeping can't be good. I hadn't checked it in a while so figured it was either the "way out of oil" which has never happened to me ever or it was beeping to let me know it needs "changing" which never happens either. I just knew it wasn't good so I was in line getting food and couldn't get out. I went to a nearby gas station asap ... no synthetic oil though which is what my dad changed it to. So I go ahead and finally find some synthetic but it's for trucks and suvs but it's better than nothing. Car seems fine after I put in a quart and it read as full enough.

Now today when I headed for the Dentist... it starts to beep again. :( I put in the other quart (bought two) but I guess that what's maybe wrong (according to the Walmart guy) is that the truck / suv oil although not bad to put in is not the same thickness as what would normally go into my vehicle so it's still beeping due to possible "error" and not really being low. I'm overdue a change anyhow so again tomorrow will be an early day while I get up at the crack of o-dark stupid and get the oil changed so I can be sure it's not something more serious like my car saying "oh by the way the oil pump is bad." :P

It is an old car... it's getting up to 9 yrs old now. It's birthday will be this Christmas only because that's when I received it 9 yrs ago when the not so great but lovely red and black baretta died. :( That was the best car I ever had up till it went stupid. It was a cooool ride and even cooler looking. :D Too bad it was about as reliable as a scooter on a rocky dirt road.

Oh yeah and my passenger headlight died a week or so back. I noticed it the previous weekend and got it changed out at AutoZone. Took like 5 minutes to get fixed. I think I could have done it myself if I'd known it was so easy. :D

So that's the week or two in review... for notes... just reread this. I'm sure it's just as fun to read the 2nd time as the first. :P

Snap Snap Snap!!!!

I think crabby is a good nickname for me right now. I've been feeling unusually snippy about just anything and everything. I don't know why I just feel angry and upset and pissy. And on the other end I keep wanting to cry about anything everything and stupid sappy movies I never cry at. LOL It's like my emotions are set for Crabby to the max and Sobby to the extreme. The other buttons just aren't working for me right now (ie, happy, glad, etc)

Other than that... achy is my middle name. I don't know if it's from all the crap I carried the other day to and from the laundry or if it's some random inflammation but my body is just aching as if I did some heavy labor. It's a lower back muscle but it's one that's really low down and it just hurts alot. I have to sit all crooked and sleep that way too so it won't hurt or cramp up. I don't know what's going on. :(

Allergies are still fighting the good fight and my body is half fighting and half going "oh just make it happen already!" so I went and bought me some more 24 hour sudafed at Target along with more time for my cheapie cell phone and some random penguin things from the dollar bin. I also ended up eating my lunch / dinner there which was two of their hotdogs and a soda. I don't know why I bought more time... I have over 300 mins left but I keep adding to make sure I never run out. Been a few mos since the last addition but I always want to be sure it's working and not going to die on me or be out of time. :P I only use it if any at all cause the clause for tracfone says "if you let it go idle too long (30 days I think) we will turn it off and there's a reactivation charge. :P Seeing as I pay for it out of my own pocket... seem odd to have a reactivation charge for NOT using it. So I try to use it once or twice a month for something random like calling the folks or the bank for my balance so it stays active. Plus the reception at times is just awful since it piggy backs off other services.

Anyone else experiencing "jet lag" from the time change? I normally have no issues with "gaining" an hour but my body is under the impression it's noon when it's now 11 am. So I keep waking up at 11 am when it's not even time for me to get up. :P My brain is like "wait a sec... the time changed... why am I waking up" and my body is like "Hey stupid! it's noon... don't you need to be up!?!?" So yeah... not sure why I'm so damn confused but part of it could be I hanged all the clocks except for my alarm clock on Sunday.

In random news... Have you noticed my Blog avvie has a tripod sticking into her foot? I keep thinking "OUCH" when I see that. ;P

Oh... my mom says she got one of my new calendars from Zazzle we ordered (The blue one if you're curious which one) and she absolutely loves it. :D So that makes me happy if nothing else does. :P

I'm feeling numb...

I feel numb... sort of empty but at least I can say I voted. I put in my two cents worth and said 'I want McCain" even if he didn't win. He put in a "good fight" as my dad said when I called a few minutes ago.

I guess I feel numb since it seemed over too soon. I mean I don't remember anyone conceding so soon. Usually it happened the next day not so soon on the day of the actual voting. That sort of surprised me but I can understand it regardless of how I may feel right now.

I can only hope those that did make this happen, this choice will be right. I can only say now... I go with the President whomever it may be. I have no grievances as long as he does what he's supposed to do towards the people of our country. As long as he's fair and doesn't do anything to make us think he has anything but us in his thoughts for the fate of our country's future is in his hands now.

I don't know why this affects me so much... I guess because I have a finger in this pie... I have things at stake being a part of this great country. I always hope that it will continue to be the great country it has always been. Change is scary... I admit that... and it's nothing to do with race as many people have tried to make this election to be. It has everything to do with character. I hope Obama has the character to pull us through and make what we hope and he says he will do (to an extent) be right.

I'll leave it at that...

Something you should know about buying Gas

I had noticed that sometimes when I fueled up, my gas debit or credit (same thing since it's more a debit credit than a real credit card) wouldn't show up in my bank statement online as quickly as it sometimes did.

I recently discovered something they don't tell you when you fuel up: If you have less than a certain amount in your account they will hold your money a few days longer. It will even look like you have a lot less money than you actually do! I'm really broke right now and I just got 5 bucks worth of gas which is all I could afford and they held my money for a few days. Nothing went red as most of my stuff was pretty much subtracted before I got the gas but it was as if I suddenly had a lot less money than I already had. Now that all the gas purchases went through, I have a few bucks more than I had before. It boggles the mind! I mean they held it for a good three days which is ridiculous!

Here's an article from CBS about this very thing.

Here's another from MSN about the same thing.

I know they're just protecting themselves from scammers but at the same time some people are on a budget and this really can screw around with your account. Apparently I was only being held off for an extra dollar or two but if it had been more, I'd have really been in for it!

Just a friendly warning to all of you who are debit card happy as I am. ;)
