I've long neglected this blog...
As much as I like this place... it's possibly time to let it go. I've already archived most of what I wanted to keep and I don't blog like I used to so... I might be saying bye to this site soon.
I just paid for another 2 mos but I may not ever post. I didn't the last time I paid which at this rate seems silly to pay for something I'm not using when there are adequate blogs elsewhere that are free. *sigh*
I like this site alot or I wouldn't have stayed for so long. Definitely nice for the price and easier to play with on the side bar. You weren't stuck with just doing the apps / add ons they wanted you to have.
So yes... I might be going soon and this is my good-bye ahead of time incase I don't post again. I'll save what I can before it goes away.

The Tech Gods Forsake me...
Well, let's see...
First on Friday around 2 pm or so, the mgr says he can't sent me mail through our work accounts. He's getting a bounce back so I check it out and find my email is not letting me send either. I figure something's going around since one of my fellow supervisors was having that issue. I think nothing much of it.
Then around 4 pm I realize I can't get into some things i should be able to. I change my password to see if that fixes the issue and it makes things worse when I discover I not only can't login to stuff I should have been and had been but I no longer show up in the Active directory. I'm basically gone from the main server but show up in Local Directory with an issue with my account which makes me nervous but I figure the server is being a dork like usual. The other supervisor with me teases me and we joke about me showing up on Monday and finding my personal drawer empty and a box with a note saying I've been let go :P Just kidding of course.
By the time my shift ends at 9 PM, I am totally locked out but I do gain access atleast to the student server for email and mail my mgr from there. I'm upset now cause I don't know what's up with my account or why it's being so wonky. It's not normal at all for it to be this F'd up. I figure since I sent my email to the boss, Monday I'd hear more and forget about it since they'd probably fix it by my shift at 3 PM.
Monday comes and I get a "administrative" error when I try to login with my user name. I ask about things and they tell me "Oh yeah, they are fixing it." So I call Help Desk and finally get through to someone and they tell me they are aware of what happened and are fixing it. The person I talk to basically says "So how long have you worked here?" as if to say maybe I'd changed depts or something that could have caused this. I say: 10+ years and I get silence and then "ooooh." LOL I mean shit! If you haven't ever changed depts in 10+ yrs how the heck does some moron screw up your acct in one day / weekend? *sigh*
Ok so finally, ex-coworker who's now a tech calls to tell me that everything should be fixed. I check and I change my pw again and get into the account fine. Seems everything's there and working but my profile on the PC is missing which kind of ticks me off but I have most of it saved under my user drive on the network which shouldn't be too much effort to fix, right? RIGHT?!?
This is where it's creepy, eerie and downright making me wanna kick someone in the butt. My user drive I've had for 10+ years without any issues at all is completely GONE! I mean F***! I want to know who the F did this and I want an explanation how they screwed up my stuff (which better the F be backed up somewhere) and if they did it cause some other person had my name and left or what. I mean my name is about as common as John Smith but don't people F'ing check things before they delete an account? Just ticks me off and makes me empathize with the students oh so much more when they come to me with complaints of the same thing. I feel for them and this makes me do it doubly so.
So yeah, first real rant in a while and justified beyond belief! I mean, I sent in a request for my drive access back and hopefully since it's only been 4 days they can get a clean backup from atleast Thursday. I didn't do much on Friday with it so if they backed it up on Thursday, I should have close to 99.99% of what i had there last week.
Anyone else have a bad experience like that from work?

Early Post Vacation Depression
Definition: the feeling you have on the last day of vacation when you know you have to go home. :(
So I'm a bit depressed about having to go today. I didn't think I was going to have as much fun as I did on this trip but SHIT (yes I cussed) this was the best trip I've ever taken in my life I think!
I got to see Times Square, ride the subway (which is something I'm glad we don't have at home. Made me miss my car.) and went to the Top of the Rock to name a few things.
The best part was I came to be part of a fan base I joined up with online. I have been part of a few fan bases but only one other I took trips for. This time around it was for a tv show. We got to see the show filmed, had permission (THANKS PAM AND EVERYONE WHO MADE IT HAPPEN) to go behind the scenes one day and meet the cast, take pictures, follow the shoot on location and run around the sets in their studio on another day. Everyone was just the nicest you could imagine and even the crew took pics of us being crazy fan girls. LOL
I want to shout out to James who was a sweetheart the whole time he showed us around the sets and location shoot and to David who was just a great guy to meet and helped us meet other crew from the show.
Don't think we didn't appreciate what you did for us and I have some great memories and pictures.

Is it really 3 wks?
Just three more weeks and I'll be in the city that never sleeps: NYC! WHOOHOO!
Yup, stressing a bit about this trip. Just worrying about everything and making sure I have the things I want to take with me where I can find them. I'll probably take atleast one carry-on and a suitcase.
A friend just went and his pictures make me want to go worse. *sighs*
