FOOTBALL SHOOTER CAUGHT | 6:55 PM

FOOTBALL SHOOTER CAUGHT. A man accused of ganking an EIU freshman football player over some borrowed CDs has been caught. With a rationale like that, the accused shooter must have gone to Western.

WE’RE BAAAAAAAACK | 10:04 PM

OK, so the drug rehab took a little longer than we thought. But the Weblog and the online shrine will get back in gear in time for another Fall Semester. There will be a handful of big changes at the EIU (Unofficial) Hall of Fame. Among them: This Weblog will post each entry individually, which may annoy those that use the e-mail notification service.

EASTERN WILL KEEP ITS CASH after state Republicans nixed the governor’s spending cuts. We never had such close calls when Edgar was in office!

The university will probably use it to fill open teaching jobs.

PANTHER TO UNITED. 2003 graduate Jason Thompson will play soccer for D.C. United. Do soccer players count as bonafide EIU pro athletes?

HOF Staff Back From Rehab! Weblog Resumes!
EIU (Unofficial) Hall of Fame
If only our food stamps could have been used to pay the Betty Ford Clinic, the EIU (Unofficial) Hall of Fame staff wouldn't have had to take such a long break. But after a couple months of sun, fun and various therapies, the Weblog will resume.

It had better resume, because NFL training camps are starting. Is everyone praying for Chris "Grumpy" Watson, Tony "Da Bench" Romo and Nick "Not A Chance" Eller?

The Hall of Fame Weblog will write periodic updates, but nothing daily. We'll resume daily reports when the school year begins or Medicaid runs out.

EIU In Finals Week. Online Shrine on Break
EIU (Unofficial) Hall of Fame
Students are well into their finals and, as is the tradition, the EIU (Unofficial) Hall of Fame Weblog will publish just once a week over the summer. The online shrine staff has to do some minor housecleaning, though you may see some major changes in the blog when classes resume in the fall.
