Decisions

Someone from college overheard some boys at the cinema deciding what to watch:

"How about The Passion?"

"What's that about?"

"I don't know, but it sounds like a chick flick."

"Can you say obsessed?"

Instead of posting (and studying) for the past couple of days, I have been compulsively fiddling with my new blog.

Please let me know if the layout makes your computer shut down, or the colour scheme makes you want to pluck out your eyes. It took me a while to figure out how to position elements with css; it looks fine in my browser, but things may look a bit dodgy in yours.

Many thanks to Ben for making this all possible.

PS - Don't even think about clicking on the archives yet.

Longing for the longing

... it is that of an unsatisfied desire which is itself more desirable than any other satisfaction. I call it Joy, which is here a technical term and must be sharply distinguished both from Happiness and from Pleasure. Joy (in my sense) has indeed one characteristic, and one only, in common with them; the fact that anyone who has experienced it will want it again. Apart from that, and considered only in its quality, it might almost equally well be called a particular kind of unhappiness or grief. But then it is a kind we want. I doubt whether anyone who has tasted it would ever, if both were in his power, exhange it for all the pleasures in the world. But then Joy is never in our power and pleasure often is.

- C S Lewis, Surprised by Joy
